Let us bid farewell to 2021 in an artistic way. This poster from an art exhibition features a work by John Drake-Moore quite appropriately titled “Time flies”. Three watches replace the propeller and undercarriage of what looks like a toy plane.

John Drake-Moore (1924 – 2006) was an American stage and film designer, painter and writer. He was born in Tryon, North Carolina. Following a Degree at Oxford University, he frequented the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, city which became home for 50 years. Among the films he designed are El Cid, 55 Day at Peking, The Fall of the Roman Empire. He has worked in most of the major theaters in Europe, including La Scala in Milan.

Un addio artistico al 2021. In questo poster dedicato a una mostra appare un’opera di John Drake-Moore opportunamente intitolata “Il tempo vola”. Tre orologi sostituiscono l’elica e i carrelli di quello che sembra un aeroplano giocattolo. 

John Drake-Moore (1924-2006) era uno scenografo, costumista, artista e scrittore americano. Nacque a Tryon, North Carolina. Dopo il diploma di laurea all’Università di Oxford, frequentò l’Accademia delle Belle Arti a Roma, che diventò la sua città per 50 anni. Ha collaborato alla realizzazione di film come El Cid, 55 Giorni a Pechino e La Caduta dell’Impero Romano. Ha lavorato con la maggior parte dei grandi teatri europei, tra i quali La Scala.
