"A super-grade wrist watch for men who demand
strict accuracy … ". Published by the British weekly magazine The
Tatler, this ad is a typical example of Rolex’s approach to communication
in the early decades of the company. The text focuses at length on the technical
improvements brought about by the newly released Prince, its officially
certified accuracy, long running time and resistance to changing temperatures. On
the other hand, there is no mention of the original dial layout and elegant “Brancard”
case.
